The Cell Biology lab at Precision for Medicine, Berlin, focuses on running groundbreaking flow cytometry assays and varied cell based assays (ELISA, MSD, Elispot).
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate to join our Cell Biology team and support clinical and translational research. As research associate you will run complex flow cytometry projects (up to 18 colors) including but not limited to receptor occupancy, immuno-phenotyping and intracellular flow assays through assay development, validation, and execution in a timely manner. In addition, you will run other cell based assays such as ELISA, MSD and ELISpot as well as support the bio-banking workflow.
Most samples are from clinical trials and therefore irreplaceable, therefore all assays are performed according to SOPs. You will support development of new procedures, writing of relevant SOPs and improvement of existing SOPs.
The role is unlimited and full-time.
Your Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Perform complex Flow cytometry (Fortessa X20 and Canto), using both real time samples and previously cryopreserved samples
- Maintenance of equipment and HTS, CS&T tracking to ensure laser alignments and instrument performance
- Run flow PBMCs and/or whole blood assays including receptor occupancy, immunophenotyping and other flow cell based assays
- Ability to organize and analyze data, as well as, prepare reports
- Run other cell based assays such ELISA, MSD, ELISpot
- Work under biosafety 2 level conditions
- Actively support sample receipt, inventory and processing, according to SOPs
- Assist in establishing and improving all procedures and required SOP documentation
- Identify, update and implement emerging laboratory techniques
- Maintain and support safe lab practices and environment
- Work collaboratively with other teams, including those that are US based, in resource sharing and providing technical expertise
- Support new equipment operational qualifications and performance checks
- Monitor Product and Service/R&D related project expenses
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
- Master's Degree in life sciences or other relevant field
- Two years of relevant laboratory experience and hands on experience with high complexity flow cytometry
- Basic knowledge on ELISA, MSD, ELISpot, primary cell based assays
Other Required:
- Possess computational skills, preferably experienced with Word, Excel, Power Point, GraphPad Prism, Diva, and FlowJo
- Able to work in team
- Extended work hours and flexibility may be necessary in order to meet business demands
- Able to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English language to enable communication across Precision and with clients
- Excellent communication , interpersonal, and organizational skills required
- Basic knowledge of German is a plus
